I am Cristina Pocta, Co-Founder of SEEN.
I am a proud New Yorker/DominiRican (proud to be raised in the lower east side of Manhattan!) and I've settled down in 757 - Virginia Beach. I have truly grown to love this beautiful place that I now call home...and I'm ready to help put it back on the map!
Our Family
What a gift and joy it has been to be the parents of our three lovely (and wild) children!
Maria and Andrew Joseph were both born with a disability called Spina Bifida. Because it's not due to genetics or some other disorder, the doctors are still unsure of how it happened....but we know that God’s ways are not always our ways. So we tell people (a bit sarcastically!) that “we got lucky twice.”
Also, ever since we first met, Andrew and I felt a call to the gift of adoption....and so to add icing to the cake, we got lucky in that a selfless birth mama picked us to adopt our sunshine boy, Luka.
As one can imagine, our story has been quite an adventure! And sure, our life is full of its ups and downs and even if we feel that things aren't always going our way or happening as quickly as we'd like them to....we've grown to trust in a God that will NEVER fail us.
We are so blessed that our whole family is excited to serve through SEEN!

Andrew and I met and first connected deeply because of our shared love for serving the poor and those most in need in this world. We both happened to have lived and served in the beautiful country of Honduras where we served as missionaries. We've been on this marriage journey now for 13 years and our relationship has continued to grow, evolve and heal through years of adventures with our children and the uniqueness of our family dynamic.
